Waiting for Travel Approval

Thomas' paper work was picked up from the US Consulate in China last Friday. We are now waiting for China to give us approval to Travel. This takes a couple of weeks, or more. I really don't know why it takes this long. Once we have our approval to travel from China we can make an appointment with the Consulate in China and purchase our airline tickets. I am super nervous. I've made a packing list and a list of things I might need for Thomas. I've been following a Yahoo group of people who have adopted kids with a cleft palate and I've gotten a few clues about what to expect, like food coming out of the nose. I finally got around to getting his room cleaned out and semi-ready. It still looks more like a guest room than a kids room. I also ordered a car seat, one my cousin Micheline recommended. I just need some more clothes and some basics for bathing and hygiene. I'm not feeling quite as unprepared as I did a couple of weeks ago. I am so glad my mom and grama will be going with me and John. I still have much to do and there are probably things that I need to do and have no clue.
